SOUL VIBE MAGAZINE
The top image features the covers of the first two issues of Soul Vibe magazine, a free publication based in Scunthorpe.
The 2nd item is a review of Soul Vibe that was published in Birmingham Vibe magazine.
The first 2 issues of Soul Vibe contained quite a lot of acid jazz related content and although they did emphasise the fact that they would be "a magazine primarily for the North of England" the material inside covered the UK scene in general. However, Birmingham Vibe appeared to be rather critical of the content and felt they should have done more to help promote the scene going on in the North instead.
An example of the kind of content Soul Vibe had on offer is shown in the 3rd item, an enthusiastic review of an EP by The Powdered Rhino Horns which was released on Tongue & Groove records.
The images of the EP itself I plucked out of my own collection.
All the articles on display above are dated 1994.
